Productivity Tip
Tracking cases through underwriting seems to be much more of a pain these days, with often further medical requirements extending the underwriting phase. It's important to be on top of this process and in our view, be able to search on various outstanding requirements. Underwriting can generally be broken down into specific task types, from receiving and submitting the proposal, through to offer of terms and acceptance. E-Broker allows you to track and manage each of these steps.

Add an Underwriting Task
1. | Under the Proposal Tasks tab you can add various task types. |
2. | Start by clicking on the date that you want the task to be completed by. For example, if you are logging that a proposal has just arrived on your desk, choose today and then Task Type will be Proposal Received. Press enter to add the task line |
3. | There are probably other things you want to add here. If the proposal is complete, then we think it's a good idea to create a task that logs that the proposal has been sent to the carrier - so task type of 'Proposal Submitted' and under description write 'to Partners via email' |
4. | If both of these tasks are now complete (the prop has left the building) then tick the boxes at the left hand end to indicate that the task is completed. |
5. | We add a forward task if we are replacing existing business, reminding us that a cancelation letter is required etc... |
6. | Add other tasks as things happen or are requested - Underwriter Name, PMAR Required and requested from Dr Smith re ht/wt etc. |
7. | As you can see in the screenshot below, we have added a forward task to chase up the PMAR if it is not back by the 10th of next month, and delegated this task to Barbara. Good idea to add the Medical Practice phone number to the description text. |
